SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Information Technology Adjunct will teach computer classes as advertised in the Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education schedule with an emphasis on the Office Associate Certificate program.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports directly to WSCE Information Technology program manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provide instruction in technology topics related primarily to the Microsoft Office application suite as assigned, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Provide instruction in bookkeeping software, specifically QuickBooks, and basic bookkeeping terminology.
  • Track student attendance in class and provide completion paperwork at end of assigned course(s).
  • Monitor and report any technology related issues that impact instruction and student success.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree preferred with at least five years’ experience in an office environment using related software applications. Previous teaching experience with adult learners preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient computer technology knowledge with hardware and software packages, especially Microsoft Office software.
  • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping concepts and operation of QuickBooks desktop software.
  • Ability to establish excellent professional working relationships with staff, students, and customers.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record.
