SUMMARY STATEMENT

The CNA Off-Campus Site Coordinator/Instructor will be a full-time Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education (WSCE) staff with teaching responsibilities at Washington County Public High Schools for the Certified Nursing Assistant program. The individual will monitor the lab and classrooms for necessary equipment, work with WSCE CNA Coordinator to ensure the Maryland Board of Nursing standards are employed in this program, and work directly with the students in didactic and clinical courses.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports directly to WSCE Allied Health program manager and works closely with CNA coordinator. Instructor will also work closely with WCPS staff to ensure program is fully enrolled and meeting all educational standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Seek continuous improvement in teaching (classroom and online) methodology and student-centered learning.


2. Maintain appropriate area of Allied Health Certification and remain current in other related Allied Health discipline.


3. Maintain scheduled availability to students.


4. Participate with other faculty in developing and managing courses, and curricula.


5. Assist in student recruitment and selection.


6. Maintain laboratories, supplies and/or equipment.


7. Remain knowledgeable about the College, its structure, culture, policies, practices and appropriate areas of Allied Health.


8. Serve as point of contact for internal communication between Hagerstown Community College and Washington County Public Schools staff and students.


9. Attend regular meetings with the WSCE Allied Health program manager


10. Teach assigned courses, utilizing strategies and activities to promote student engagement and enhanced student learning.


11. Follow established rules and guidelines of appropriate area of Allied Health.


12. Maintain current and develop new curriculum within appropriate area of Allied Health for student placements.


13. Develop, coordinate and monitor all course and clinical documentation.


14. Perform administrative duties as assigned by the College.


15. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate degree or at least 60 college credits and RN License required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience with online learning platforms preferred. Candidates must be a registered nurse licensed to practice registered nursing in Maryland or have multistate licensure privilege to practice registered nursing in this State, have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, at least 1 year of which was in caring for the elderly or chronically ill in the past 5 years, and complete a course with a minimum of 16 hours of instruction in the principles of adult education, or have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Proficient computer technology knowledge with hardware and software packages, especially all Microsoft Office software.


• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in planning, facilitating instruction, and assessing student learning.


• Superb written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, and perform required duties with minimal supervision.


• Proven success as a flexible, positive, team player with the ability to work within a fast paced, multi-task project-oriented environment.


• Ability to take the initiative with project and support assignments.


• Proven collaborative project completion in a previous work setting.


• Ability to establish excellent professional working relationships with staff, students, and customers.


• Ability to maintain confidentiality.


• Must have a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT

This position will be housed at WCPS to oversee CNA/GNA program and will also include classroom, lab, and clinical instruction. This position will also require the applicant to hold office hours to meet with students, staff, and administration. This individual will be required to participate in HCC events and training.
