Digital Learning Systems Administrator
The Office of Academic Technology strives to provide exceptional support and training to the CCU campus to create a successful learning environment. The office is in search of a second digital learning systems administrator to meet the mission of the department and campus. An ideal candidate for this position must have admin experience with a learning management system and other third-party tools. This candidate will also be able to work efficiently in a high-volume work environment while providing excellent customer service to the campus. The anticipated start date for this position is June 12, 2023.

Duties include, but are not limited to: perform system administration functions for all assigned digital learning platforms (including but not limited to Moodle); collaborate with other Systems Administrator and external support personnel to perform system testing for upgrades and enhancements under the direction of the DL Director; research, develop, and document solutions for problems submitted on faculty and student help requests; provide in-person and online training to faculty, staff, and students for all assigned digital learning platforms (including but not limited to Moodle; develop and continuously update user guides, how-to documents, videos, and other training and support documents; process usage data pertaining to the digital and online learning systems and produce data reports for the digital learning director on an as-needed and scheduled basis; communicate and collaborate with critical units and academic/service departments on campus (i.e., ITS, Library, Admissions, Graduate Studies & Continuing Education, and others) on issues related to digital and online learning systems, and coordinates projects and support as required.
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, educational technology, information management systems, computer technology or related field and at least one (1) year experience as an online learning/technology systems administrator overseeing a LMS (such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard) is required. A master’s degree in education, instructional technology, online learning, instructional design, or related field is preferred. Experience supporting help-desk level callers at the faculty level is strongly preferred. Experience developing documentation or technical reports for both print and electronic distribution is preferred. Experience teaching in the higher education, K12, or professional development areas is preferred.

Database Administrator I (AM42/61122953/FTE-S00791P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 06. Salary range is $43,030.00 (minimum) to $61,323.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. This position may include some evening and weekend hours beyond normal work hours, as well as service during the start-up period of each semester and campus closures due to academic continuity.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, educational technology, information management systems, computer technology or related field. Master’s degree in education, instructional technology, online learning, instructional design, or related field is preferred. Experience teaching in the higher education, K12, or professional development areas is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Familiarity with supporting third-party educational technology tools, such as online proctoring, textbook publishers, digital accessibility, and lecture capture is preferred. High level of administrative and instructional competence in Moodle or similar learning management system. Familiarity with both Windows and Apple operating systems is required. High level of expertise in desktop software environments (such as Microsoft Office Suite), web authoring tools, and other third party software to support course management system applications is expected for a successful candidate for this position. Training, helpdesk or consultative experience required. Must be highly accurate and detail oriented. Strong customer service background is a must, and any successful applicant will have a history of strong leadership as well as strong teamwork within previous workplace environments.
