Job Summary:

Position Summary: Tenure Track, Full-Time FacultyPosition at OSU-CHS Tulsa, OK. The position offers an exciting opportunity tojoin an integrated and innovative learner-centered academic program. Duties ofan assistant professor include research, teaching medical and graduate courses,and service/outreach. Start-up funding is available. This position will have supervisory responsibilities, including managing lab technicians, and graduate students.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Conducting independent research
- Obtaining intramural and extramural grant funding
- Publishing in peer-reviewed journals
- Presenting at scientific conferences
- Participating in professional societies
- Mentoring medical and graduate student researchers
- Ability to function in a larger research group
- Teaching in the osteopathic medical school curriculum
- Teaching in graduate courses/developing graduate courses
- Engaging in assessment of student learning, and curriculum planning and development related to pharmacology
- Serving on OSU-CHS committees, departmental committees, and/or campus committees.
- Serving as a mentor or advisor to graduate students and osteopathic medical students
- Interviewing medical school applicants
- Providing community outreach
- Participating in local, state, or national professional committees

Environmental Hazards:
Possible exposure to dangerous explosives, fire, heat and cold.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry push, and pull 50 pounds,stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and performrepetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations. Sufficientto carry out specific job functions of a medical school educator.

Oklahoma State University-Center for Health Sciences was founded in 1972 and is home to the College of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as graduate programs in forensics, biomedicine, healthcare and athletic training.   Our core business is education; and it takes more than 500 faculty and staff members to run our institution.  Our mission is to educate and train osteopathic physicians, research scientists and other healthcare professionals with an emphasis on serving rural and underserved Oklahomans.  We offer more than 10 different specialty clinics to care for patients in the area.
