The Office of Enrollment Management Operations at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our LDA Administrative Specialist position. We are seeking candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.

The Position:

This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.

This is a Limited Duration Appointment (LDA). This position will be responsible for internal, divisional event planning and coordination for all EM professional development events. The Administrative Specialist will develop and execute a production timeline for these events and manage all event logistics prior to the event as well as throughout the event. The Administrative specialist will also create and manage content and presentations for division wide meetings and professional development opportunities and trainings. This position will support the administrative and operational efforts of the EM Operations & EM Communications leadership through coordinating appointments, manage meeting documents, handling phone messages, maintaining office records, supervising supplies and inventory as well as edit and send communications on behalf of leadership. The Administrative Specialist will be responsible for developing and managing reports, presentations, websites, surveys and databases as needed.



Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:

HS Diploma and at least 1-year experience in an office setting.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree

• Experience in a University environment.

• Event planning experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Superior customer service and time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

• Strong organizational planning and strategic thinking skills, and ability to independently prioritize workload.

• Ability to research and analyze information and make appropriate recommendations.

• Ability to prioritize job tasks under time constraints.

• Excellent oral communications skills, and ability to write clearly and concisely using effectual writing skills.

• Sensitive to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all backgrounds.

• Proven ability to work effectively as a team member.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (or similar).

The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 170 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, University Registrar, EM Communications, and Research & Analytics.
