Position Description:
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Information Technology Services is seeking an Instructional Designer with an exceptional commitment to service excellence to join the team. As Instructional Designer, you will be an integral member of the FACET (Financial Aid Cloud Environment Technology) Project team, collaborating with diverse and talented team members to enable a world-class, integrated Financial Aid management system using a leading-edge cloud-based platform.

The Instructional Designer supports the implementation and adoption of Vocado Student Financial Planning (Vocado SFP), an Oracle Financial Aid processing application. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for the design and delivery of instructional materials to support accurate, efficient and timely execution of configuration development. The Instructional Designer will collaborate closely with the Technology team to create written and digital instructional and reference materials, aligning training approach with industry best practices in adult learning theory. Additionally the Instructional Designer will contribute to instructional support activities during stabilization including workshops and user support office hours.

Activities include: Analysis of vendor-provided and project-generated documentation to develop written and video-based instructional and reference materials tailoring information for either technical or end-user audience. Materials will include: digital and written instructional guides for execution of configuration changes, processes and tools to manage configuration update information between users and developers, topical reference to provide configuration developers with an overview of business requirements, topical reference to provide business users with a functional understanding of the scope of configuration, and guidance for managing configuration updates triggered by Oracle quarterly updates. To inform content development: reviews FACET Configuration Framework, consults with FACET Technology team, reviews existing technical documentation and system diagrams, understands testing/ regression testing approach and data models; participates in the delivery of end-user training activities as applicable.


Special Instructions:
Position is eligible for remote work with limited need to come to campus/on-site for business needs.
