Job Purpose:Provide direct support to the Partnership Development team in the development, coordination, and implementation of a variety of job identification and job placement initiatives.

Location:Remote, various locations throughout California

Salary Range: The beginning salary range for this position is $79,549.72 -$87,718.57



Position Overview


Provides input and implements the goals of the Workforce Development program at Calbright. Handles priority tasks and assignments supporting the Senior Manager and team members to keep projects and initiatives running smoothly. This may include managing deadlines and workflow, scheduling and facilitating meetings, tracking partnership opportunities, reviewing and recommending changes, and updates to employer partnership agreements.



Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities


The duties below are representative of the role and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed within the scope of work.


  • Under the supervision of the Senior Workforce Engagement Manager, the Employment Development Coordinator executes all aspects of the partnership engagement strategy in an effort to maximize employment opportunities for Calbright students. Convenes team meetings, prepares presentations, leverages program tools, documents procedures, and creates standardized forms. This role will interface with prospective partners to evaluate collaboration opportunities and will be responsible for resource stewardship in the Calbright model. In addition, the Employment Development Coordinator will be responsible for resource stewardship in the Calbright model.
  • Assists Senior Workforce Engagement Manager to develop the Workforce Development program for Calbright in partnership with external stakeholders such as community based organizations, local community colleges and employer groups including organized labor to cultivate workforce and economic development opportunities; and help create programs in collaboration with stakeholders to prepare students for employment, education and business opportunities services.
  • Assists with the marketing of programs and activities of Calbright’s workforce development program; represents Calbright in the community; and promotes the department by serving on task forces and relevant workforce development/economic development committees within the community.
  • Identifies industry professionals to serve on program advisory councils.
  • Maintains and builds relationships with business and industry, governmental agencies, community organizations and workforce development partners to ensure quality and relevance to programs.
  • Coordinates opportunities with business advisory councils, employer groups, workforce development agencies, organized labor, education and training providers, referring agencies, and community-based paid work sites.
  • Organizes, plans, and executes workforce development events as necessary for various assigned projects
  • Prepares materials for and supports completion of monthly reports and budgets as requested
  • Coordinates Workforce Development and Career Services to meet both job seekers and business/employer community needs.
  • Works in tandem with multiple departments across the college to successfully track employment labor market outcomes.
  • Assesses the staffing needs of businesses and tracks employment placement and retention outcomes for program participants.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned that support the objective of the position.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic Internet research techniques
  • Great follow-up skills
  • Skilled coordinating a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve and exercise good judgment with minimal supervision
  • Communicates effectively and persuasively in both oral and written format; speak in large and small group settings; prepare and analyze comprehensive reports; conduct meetings.
  • Must have project management and people skills.
  • Must have good communication skills (oral, written, electronic).

Minimum Qualifications


  • Baccalaureate Degree in relevant field preferred (i.e., business administration, human resources, marketing, social services, education/training)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in economic development, workforce development or related field



Desired Qualifications


  • Experience with developing partnerships and/or coordinating employment opportunities
  • Experience working with or in the public workforce development system
  • Three or more years of responsible administrative experience in the private or public sectors dealing with the public in the areas of workforce development or a closely related field
  • Relationship management experience
  • Experience with analyzing economic and labor market data



Working Conditions and Travel


  • Calbright College is a statewide online college where all instruction and support are done via various online technologies both in person and remotely. Calbright College has administrative offices in Sacramento available for use. When working remotely, employees should be able and willing to use digital communication tools as used by the college, and have the ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.

  • Requires the ability to function in a remote online instructional environment performing work of primarily a sedentary nature. Requires the ability to use hearing and speech to make presentations to groups and carry on conversations over the phone and in-person. Requires speaking skills to communicate with staff and students in one-on-one and small group settings, on the phone, and to distinguish sound prompts from various types of equipment. Requires near visual acuity to read printed materials and computer screens. Requires sufficient hand/arm/finger dexterity to retrieve work materials, operate a personal computer keyboard, and operate standard office equipment. Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
