About this position

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Director of Institutional Effectiveness performs all necessary functions related SACSCOS, NASM, CAEP and other accrediting bodies that supports institutional objectives and decision-making. This position ensures the overall integrity of accreditation process, while also coordinating the accreditation activities. This position reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and is located on Southern Wesleyan University's main campus in Central, South Carolina.

This is a full-time, salaried position with full benefits. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position is currently available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serve as university liaison with the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, including annual reporting and substantive change notifications.
  2. Provide leadership and coordination for the process of measuring, evaluating and improving institutional effectiveness.
  3. Provide consultation to departments in developing, administering, and processing assessment projects.
  4. Serve as planning liaison with various departments of the university for the evaluation of university programs and services including the assessment of learning outcomes.
  5. Serves as ex-officio member of various committees as a consultant for SACSCOC compliance.
  6. Coordinates with the Provost, the Chairs, and the Coordinators to produce required documents to SACSCOC.
  7. Maintains liaison relationships with Institutional Effectiveness faculty of other universities within the region.

About our ideal candidate

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited Institution required, a master’s degree is preferred. Degree in computer science, mathematics, or other analytical field preferred.
  2. Experience in higher education, institutional effectiveness, institutional research, applied research, data management or related fields preferred.
  3. Experience with student information systems (Jenzabar preferred), visualization software (Power BI preferred), and SQL desired.
  4. SWU is committed to maximizing the use of technology in its daily operations and in achieving its strategic goals. In addition to the stated qualifications, the ideal candidate will with have a high comfort level with web-based, mobile and PC applications including but not limited to the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The successful candidate will also have demonstrated proficiency in the following:
    • research and data analysis principles and practices
    • evaluation and measurement principles
    • research instruments
    • statistical methods
    • mathematical concepts
    • data extraction and transformation
    • surveying methods
    • computer and related software applications, including statistical analysis, spreadsheet, word-processing, statistical software, and database software
