In fact, Farmingdale State has flourished to become one of the most important centers of learning and research in the Long Island region.

A coeducational, public college with almost 7,000 undergraduate students, including about 500 resident students, Farmingdale State is located on 380 lush acres in the heart of Long Island, approximately 45 minutes from New York City. Since its transition to a technology college in the 1980s, the campus has focused on preparing students for careers in the workplace through its Schools of Business, Arts and Sciences, Engineering Technology, and Health Sciences. Technology is integrated into the coursework so students are provided cutting-edge instructional techniques that make them attractive recruits for public and private industries.
