Job Responsibilities

TTC, located in Charleston, SC, is a public, two-year, multi-campus institution that provides quality education and promotes economic development. With campuses located in North Charleston, Moncks Corner, Downtown Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, and Dorchester, TTC is a State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education system member.

Trident Technical College’s library system seeks to fill a full-time librarian position. This position reports to the Dean of the Learning Resource Centers (Libraries). Duties include, but are not limited to, traditional reference, collection development, minimal basic cataloging, collaborating with faculty to provide digital services focusing on open educational resources (OERs) and affordable course materials, providing bibliographic instruction through the embedded librarian service, and other duties as assigned. The position works collaboratively with the Dean, library staff, and faculty in providing library services both traditionally and remotely. Primarily based at Thornley Campus Library, this position may work at other TTC Campuses.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

This position requires a master’s degree in library and/or information science from an accredited library school and two (2) years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of library operations and resources. Must be able to manage multiple tasks, possess excellent speaking and writing skills, demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills, and demonstrate planning and the delivery of instruction. Candidates must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential. Duties include, but are not limited to, collection development, collaborating with faculty to provide digital services focusing on open educational resources (OERs) and affordable course materials, providing bibliographic instruction through the embedded librarian service, and other duties as assigned.
