Job Summary::Are you looking for new ways to enhance the learning experience for nursing students? If so, Kalamazoo Valley Community College may have the perfect opportunity for you.
Kalamazoo Valley Community College is seeking RN applicants for part-time nursing clinical positions.
These are clinical courses that allow nursing students to function in the roles of provider and manager of care for clients with common, well-defined, health care deficits in a predictable environment. Socialization into the acute care setting is also a focus of these courses.
A Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree is required.
A minimum of two (2) years of nursing practice experience is required.
An unencumbered State of Michigan RN license is required.
Current American Heart Association “BLS Provider” CPR certification is required.
Upon hire, candidates will be required to complete a 10-panel drug screen, and provide documentation of the following:
* Seasonal Flu Vaccine.
* Series of three Hepatitis B immunizations or Hepatitis B titer results indicating immunity.
* Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (TDAP) within last 10 years.
* Negative PPD (one step) or Quantiferon Gold TB test within the past year (a negative chest X-Ray within the past 3 years will also suffice and will be required if PPD or Quantiferon are positive.
* Series of 2 MMR immunizations or adequate titer results for Rubeola, Mumps and Rubella.
* Varicella immunity documented by either a series of two Varicella immunizations, or history of disease confirmed by physician record, or adequate Varicella titer results.
A Master’s degree with a major in nursing is preferred.
At least one (1) year of nursing education work experience is preferred.
Extended periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting of patients
