About the Department:

The Office of Facilities Planning and Management (OFPM) is a two hundred plus multi-disciplined team dedicated to campus master planning, strategic planning, design and construction for all capital improvement initiatives, real estate management, facility and infrastructure operations for the Southern Methodist University Dallas and SMU Taos campuses. OFPM has successfully completed a wide range of various projects including residential accommodations, innovation buildings and student life, athletics, fine arts and academic facilities. About the Position:

This role is an on-campus, in-person position.

The STABLE Business Analyst is an extremely client facing role responsible for auditing, managing, and maintaining SMU's integrated workplace management system's data integrity. The business analyst is responsible for conducting audits of different data sets within the system throughout the year to maintain optimal accuracy for reporting. Designing the data surveys, training partners, and ensuring validated results.  The role will support the research data integration, various and additional support for the successful management of additional system functions as well.  This position will be responsible for partner support, training, business process work-flow analysis, data migration and cleanup, project management, and software configuration and customization.  The analyst will be expected to coordinate with cross functional internal and customer resources from inception through successful completion.

Essential Functions:

    Strategy and Planning: Provide IWMS software audit process recommendations and consultation, work with clients and internal teams to define approach and methods for audit cycles and testing of data within the software, assist in developing and deploying workflows, surveys, procedures, provide support and governance for tools, data, policies and processes as it relates to IWMS and data integrity.

    IWMS Support: Answer ad-hoc/how-to questions on the IWMS and IWMS process for internal clients, attend meetings and provide IWMS experience, best practices, and project planning advice, regularly meet with project stakeholders to discuss system and changes, facilitate and document enhancement or project or process requirements in conjunction with OIT, troubleshoot issues

    Process Management: Develop plans and timelines, ensuring scope and approach are fully understood by all stakeholders, ensure all systems of record for project reporting are kept current, communicate status to stakeholders, identify, track, measure and report on key audit milestones and results



Qualifications
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree is required.

A minimum of five (5) years of experience is required.

Candidate with working knowledge of ticketing or assignment software required. Working knowledge of Planon, TRIRIGA, ARCHIBUS, other IWMS software, or survey/audit software is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate with previous experience working in higher education is desired. Previous experience working with space management data validation is desired. Candidate with project management experience is helpful. Candidate must also demonstrate ability to quickly absorb software knowledge, facilities management and space management functions. Candidate must be proficient in preparing and delivering documents, auditing, and process work-flows.

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly  to a variety of stakeholders of varying levels of technical ability. Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.

Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
