Instructor or Assistant Professor of Nursing POSITION: a full time, continuing contract, faculty position in the Undergraduate, prelicensure Nursing Program RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide high quality undergraduate, pre-licensure nursing instruction in a reputable, CCNE-accredited nursing program grounded in the liberal arts. Applicants must have a strong commitment to clinical practicum supervision and classroom theory teaching in the area of Adult Health nursing. Applicants will participate in academic advising of nursing majors (18-20 students annually). POSITION DETAILS: 12-month contract, with a good potential for renewal of position. 24 semester hours per year. Salary and rank determined by education and experience. APPOINTMENT DATE: One-year position begins mid-August 2023. EMU reserves the right to fill the position at any time or keep the position open.Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. or DNP preferred, MSN required. Experience in adult health nursing is required. Prior experience in nursing education preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate experience in one or more of the following: academic advising; clinical supervision; nursing simulation labs: development, coordination, and supervision.Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to serving and working within a community of diverse learners and an affinity for the department’s mission of preparing and mentoring students to practice nursing within a Sacred Covenant Model (https://emu.edu/nursing/covenant).
