Schedule: M-F : 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Weekends as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Laboratory Support
Provides laboratory oversight for the Amgen BiotechExperience. Responsible for the day-to-day lab operations associated with thisproject, including, but not limited to, set up of lab space, organization oflab materials, procurement of supplies, preparation of solutions/scientificmaterials for lab kits, management of assembly of kits, maintenance of lab kitequipment, distribution of lab kits, maintaining loan schedule. Assiststeachers with lab kits. Serves as first point of contact for kittroubleshooting and provides technical assistance for participating teachers.Trains and serves as functional supervisor for student lab assistants.


Administrative

Ensures appropriate supporting documents, forms, and reportsare filed accurately, in a timely manner. Assists the project team withcreating and acquiring any needed documentation. Prepares fiscal and reportingdocuments. Creates requisitions for purchasing of scientific materials.Coordinates with ABE staff in procurement of materials. Establishes and managesa website for continued learning for institute participants. Develops onlinemodules using LabXchange platform for students and teachers. Provides programexpertise and advice to ABE-Central Ohio site staff. Attends all quarterly ABELab Technician virtual meetings with the ABE program office.

ABE Program Recruitment and Retention
Assists in coordination of development of overarchingstrategy for recruitment of K12 partners to ABE professional developmentopportunities. Attends in-person and virtual presentations and collectsinterest forms. Assists teachers with the application process. Promotes programto area high schools. Maintains relationships with teachers and invites them toreturn for subsequent PD opportunities; assists in teacher engagement. Servesas an ABE-Central Ohio representative and primary liaison with teachers and ABEprogram partners.

ABE Program Coordination
Reserves facilities for professional development traininginstitutes. Provides relevant institute information to teachers. Securestechnology needed and lab supplies. Schedules subject matter experts fordelivery of content. Assists with the planning and implementation of theABE-Central Ohio teacher training workshops. Assists with other event logisticsas needed. Collaborates with two faculty SMEs to deliver the professionaldevelopment and provide technical assistance to participants. Present attraining workshops and facilitates in-person or virtual ABE-Central Ohioteacher events as needed. Attends all PD sessions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: best practices in laboratory organization and project coordinating including follow-up and follow-through techniques; computers, software, including Microsoft Office Suite; organizing and coordinating training programs.Skill in: effective verbal and written communication; planning, scheduling and organizing work; application of technology and software programs; office organization; customer service; conflict resolution; general typing application of job software including word processing and spreadsheets; creating and proofreading standard business correspondence and other written documents; creating and reviewing functional report formats; documenting office procedures.Ability to: work independently in a team environment; manage and prioritize multiple, highly complex projects; originate correspondence; maintain confidential and sensitive information; demonstrate initiative; use good judgement; accomplish results through collaboration and influence; effectively communicate research in oral, written, and graphic form; excellent listening skills and participant in collaborative work; develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the College and community; effectively work with persons of varying cultures and diversity; problem solve effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology; MS preferred .1 year experience in secondary or higher science education.1 year experience in a laboratory setting. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s). *An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.
