The Morris University Center (MUC) Marketing department is in search of a Marketing Manager. The Marketing department provides graphic design, printing, installation, marketing and promotion, photography, web and social media marketing services for campus departments, individuals, students, student organizations and the surrounding community. Some of the products and services include posters, flyers, yard signs, wall lettering, large scale printing and installation for windows, walls, and meeting rooms. MUC Marketing also provides texting services through a text club, web management and updates, management of signage and a consistent branding. The Marketing Manager will collaborate with University Marketing and Communication staff on ensuring Southern Illinois University branding standards with all projects within the Morris University Center and develop relationships with potential externals to the university clients to provide print, design and marketing/promotional support for events and product sales. The Marketing Manager will also offer marketing/promotional/graphic design and printing support for student focused programming to areas that include SIUE departments, student organizations and individual students as well as correct and keep brand standards with these areas that align with University marketing and communication brand standard guidelines. Additionally, the preferred candidate may oversee or supervise staff, student and/or volunteers responds to requests for information from the media or other constituencies, prepares information for media kits, talking points or similar information, develops and edits and obtains photographs/images and prepares informational brochures for media outlets and similar publications. The successful candidate should be familiar with working in a Higher Education environment and have a working knowledge of marketing, public relations, promotional development, graphic design, printing processes, communications, journalism, business, interior design (installation), photography, videography, journalism, social media, digital marketing, web design and development, advertising, content strategy and business management. Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs and goals of the department.

1.Bachelor’s degree in public relations, advertising, communications, or a related field.
2.One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in communications, promotions, public relations, advertising or event planning.
3.Based on position requirements, additional education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
*Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.
