Georgetown Law's Department of Faculty Support is dedicated to assisting the full-time, non-clinical faculty with the range of their Georgetown teaching responsibilities, committee assignments and scholarly work.

Job Overview

The Faculty Support Team Lead is a member of a group of Team Leads and Faculty Assistants who support the teaching and scholarly responsibilities of full-time law faculty members.

Each Team Lead supports to five to eight faculty members, and serves as a point of contact for the 30-40 faculty in their area who are supported by other Faculty Assistants. Support services may include assisting faculty with the entire range of their Georgetown teaching responsibilities, committee assignments, and scholarly work.

Work Interactions

Reporting to Director of Faculty Support, the Faculty Support Team Lead works closely with the other Team Leads and Faculty Assistants, and delegates work to Faculty Assistants as needed to ensure an equitable distribution of work in their area.

As well, they collaborate and communicate effectively with all members of the Law Center community (faculty, students, and staff), vendors, visitors, and the public in order to provide comprehensive, high-level support to the faculty.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in administrative support and/or customer service roles
  • Experience with the practical application of routine office practices and techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working with a wide range of individuals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe
  • Ability to gain proficiency with other office and campus technologies, including GMS/Workday and Canvas


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education administration - particularly in a Law School environment
  • Experience with Georgetown campus technologies (including GMS/Workday and Canvas)
  • Familiarity with Georgetown University Law Center Administrative Support practices and policies
