• Teach elementary, intermediate and specialized courses in Spanish language and culture; with assignments in French as well.
• Use innovative instructional strategies that support student success and recognize diverse learning styles.• Participate in curriculum and program development and outcomes assessment.
• Use technology to teach distance-learning courses and enhance instruction.• Contribute to a dynamic student-centered environment requiring adaptability, creativity, and teamwork.• Demonstrate commitment to the community college mission and its diverse student populations.
• Serve on college-wide committees and engage in departmental discussion and development.
• Be willing to commute and teach at multi-campus locations as required by department needs.

• Master’s degree or above in Spanish, with a second language proficiency in French required.· Minimum of three years’ teaching experience in the specific discipline(s) at the community college/university level preferred, or equivalent 3 years’ experience at the secondary level• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues.· Finalists will be required to provide official college transcripts, 3 references, and a teaching philosophy statement.

· Second language acquisition training and a second language proficiency and teaching experience in French preferred.· Experience in developing and teaching language courses for specific/professional purposes preferred.· Expertise in curriculum development and teaching heritage language speakers desired.· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.· Experience working with a diverse student body.
