About UC Blue Ash

UC Blue Ash is the largest regional college in Ohio and one of the largest colleges at the University of Cincinnati. We are an open access college and offer primarily associate degrees with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students.

The History, Philosophy, Political Science Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our History Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed). The number of positions varies depending on the needs of the department. Appointments are renewed based on departmental need and teaching performance. Rank and compensation are based on experience and academic credentials. All applicants for this position must be proficient in English, have strong communication skills, and be effective classroom facilitators who enjoy teaching in a culturally diverse, student-centered environment

Job Overview

On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students.

Part-time faculty must be able to teach American or World History survey courses as well as other introductory and advanced history courses.

Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students and reply to student communications in a timely manner; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year. All classes may be offered day or evening.

Essential Functions
  • On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
  • Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of their responsibilities.
  • Review and respond in a timely manner to all University-related and student communications.
Required Education

Master’s degree (or higher) in History.

Required Experience

At least one year of teaching experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Ph.D. in history is ideal.
