Description:
A Nurse Practitioner is needed to provide Primary Care to patients at the the Louisiana Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders (LCBCD). This position is pivotal to the mission of the Louisiana Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders (LCBCD) in expanding its services with a concentrated initiative dedicated to the care of pediatric and adolescent patients and their families with blood disorders.
A Nurse Practitioner with experience in pediatric/family health care is a vital component to the LCBCD being able to continue to expand and strengthen its integrated, comprehensive medical home model of care.
Qualifications:
Candidates must qualify for appointment at the Instructor level and be Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certified. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with the level of qualifications and experience.
Some of the specific duties required of the Primary Care Pediatric/Family Nurse Practitioner and directly in line with the above-mentioned objectives are:
- Developing programs and services focusing specifically in identification, diagnosis, management, and treatment of children and adolescents with bleeding and other blood disorders throughout their life span
- Enhancing the coordinated care of pediatric and adolescent patients as they transition through the life stages
- Raising awareness among the patient population in order to foster proper diagnosis and securing optimal treatment
- Educating and collaborating with key healthcare providers throughout the community
- Translating, participating in, and disseminating provider information and research
