Job Duties:
- Teaching assignment may include a full range of courses within the Geography discipline.
- Teaching assignment may include a full range of undergraduate courses such Earth Science, Human Geography, Introduction to Meteorology, Global Sustainability, World Regional Geography, and Geographic Information Systems.
- Teaching assignment may include day, evening, weekend, and/or on-line courses.
- Teaching responsibilities include teaching courses, maintaining scheduled office hours, advising students, developing curriculum, participating in College service, and professional development activities.
- Leadership in developing and improving our academic courses.
- Community service is encouraged.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Geography or Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Geography or related coursework with course content required.
- All academic degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Ability to maintain good relationships with students, staff, and community members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience at the community college level.
- Experience and/or interest in using multi-media/new instructional technology in the classroom.
- Experience and/or interest in online course development and instruction.
- Experience and interest in utilizing Learning Management Systems for course enhancement or delivery.
- Academic leadership experience.
- Interest in participating in College’s STEM and Challenger Center initiatives.
