Job Duties:

  • Teaching assignment may include a full range of courses within the Geography discipline.
  • Teaching assignment may include a full range of undergraduate courses such Earth Science, Human Geography, Introduction to Meteorology, Global Sustainability, World Regional Geography, and Geographic Information Systems.
  • Teaching assignment may include day, evening, weekend, and/or on-line courses.
  • Teaching responsibilities include teaching courses, maintaining scheduled office hours, advising students, developing curriculum, participating in College service, and professional development activities.
  • Leadership in developing and improving our academic courses.
  • Community service is encouraged.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Geography or Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Geography or related coursework with course content required.
  • All academic degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Ability to maintain good relationships with students, staff, and community members.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience at the community college level.
  • Experience and/or interest in using multi-media/new instructional technology in the classroom.
  • Experience and/or interest in online course development and instruction.
  • Experience and interest in utilizing Learning Management Systems for course enhancement or delivery.
  • Academic leadership experience.
  • Interest in participating in College’s STEM and Challenger Center initiatives.
