St. Cloud State University (SCSU) seeks a visionary, academic leader who is collaborative, inclusive and entrepreneurial to serve as the next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (PVPAA). This is an extraordinary opportunity for an innovative academic to play a key role on the leadership team of President Robbyn Wacker and partner with university leaders, faculty and staff in achieving the goals of It's Time, an ambitious framework developed by the campus community. The It's Time framework builds on the institution's strengths and redefines the future of regional state universities. The university is leading the way into the future by boldly altering the way it serves a new generation of students and community partners. We are challenging academia's conventional ways of thinking and doing in order to meet the needs of our students and society. Much of the key academic work to be realized in the next phase of the It's Time framework implementation depends on a provost who can inspire, organize and work in partnership with the academic community, the president and the president's leadership team.

To that end, the PVPAA will be a forward-thinking and proactive leader who possesses a commitment to teaching, learning and student success coupled with a deep appreciation for the teacher-scholar model. Our next PVPAA will engage in authentic collaboration, lead with integrity and honor the tenets of shared governance. The PVPAA must be able to articulate and implement change, be a problem solver and decision maker who is a skillful communicator, foster trust and inspire confidence. The PVPAA must have a genuine commitment to and understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion.
