Description The Instructional Designer is responsible for the design and development of curricula across all assigned curriculum areas. Responsibilities will include developing, revising, and maintaining accessible instructional models and content that are aligned with the programmatic outcomes and that meet the WSU Tech Standards. In addition, working closely with faculty and the instructional technology staff in course design, pedagogy, and technology integration will be a major part of this position.This position is grant funded.
Pay Rate: $52,000 annually
Schedule: M-F 8-5 typically; campus varies
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs Instructional Design tasks for Technical Education courses/programs: Ensures the alignment of content, activities, and assessments to course and program outcomes in all design projects.Is familiar with and applies WSUTech course standards to all design projects.Implements WSUTech course design models, structures, and standards into each design project.Creates media to support learning (visual aids, infographics, active learning activities, animation, etc.).Remediates instructional content items to meet all WSU Tech Standards, including accessibility.Research, select, and apply methods (best practices) to transition instructional content items from one delivery method to another.Research and present instructional content options to Faculty/Subject Matter Experts for review.Creates and structures content and activities to support student learning across multiple learning and delivery models.Curates the Innovation Café to ensure it is the “go to” place for faculty regarding the art and science of teaching.
