The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Hendrix College invites applications for a tenure track position for an Assistant Professor of Mathematics to begin in August 2023. The College seeks to extend its tradition of excellence in teaching and scholarship by attracting faculty who combine mastery of their disciplines with broad intellectual interests and commitment to the aims of a liberal arts college. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the capacity and desire to be an excellent teacher across all levels of the mathematics curriculum. The standard teaching load is six courses per year. All department members mentor senior capstone projects and are expected to be professionally active in the wider mathematics community. Doctorate is expected by the start date; however, applicants who are ABD at the time of application will be considered.
Applications should include a cover letter addressing the candidate’s interest in teaching in a demanding liberal arts environment, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching interests, evidence of teaching effectiveness, graduate transcripts, and a statement of scholarly interest.
