Job Description:


  • Provide development, oversight, and leadership for the College's Online Learning Program. This includes the development of new online courses (synchronous and asynchronous), revitalize existing programs, and propose new academic programs. This will also include the hiring, selection, and supervision of faculty who teach in online programs.

  • Develop, implement, and assess a robust faculty development program that provides full-time and adjunct faculty members with relevant skills, knowledge, and abilities to be successful in the classroom. This will include the development of online and in-person trainings and development opportunities.

  • Provide leadership for the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship (CETLS) which will include the supervision of one (1) Instructional Technologist and one (1) Assistant Director for Online Learning and Faculty Development.

  • Develop, implement, and provide oversight of initial online learning training and continuing education for faculty. Provide support to faculty and staff with ongoing research on emerging technologies that can be adopted and adapted for online and on-ground courses and program development. Manage college's relationships with third party service providers (e.g Canvas).

  • Collaborate with and advise Deans, Division Chairs, supervisors, and others to ensure the following: instructional quality of online courses/programs, consistent use of the LMS, and identify emerging areas of need for faculty.

  • Serve as a member of the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs leadership team and partner with other colleagues to address emerging issues, provide leadership to new initiatives, and achieve the goals of the Division of Academic Affairs.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.



Requirements:


  • Required Degree(s): Master's degree in Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.

  • Preferred Degree(s): Doctoral degree in educational leadership, administration, curriculum/teaching, or a related field

  • Required Field of Expertise: 3-5 years experience in Education; Curriculum, Instruction, and Design; Instructional Design; learning management; experience teaching in online/remote settings

  • Preferred Field of Expertise: 3-5 years teaching experience at the post-secondary level


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication

  • Must be proficient with learning management systems

  • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving skills

  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting

  • Possess project management and change management knowledge

  • Have the ability to plan and organize initiatives and organizational support functions

  • Possess leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Work collaboratively in a diverse environment

  • Extensive working knowledge of computer software and hardware; web design and development productivity software; multimedia development software; online learning applications; training development software, and design methodologies.

  • Must possess ability to work with students and an understanding of issues facing online students

Work Schedule


This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt-level, benefits-eligible position. Normal office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., flexible to the needs of the department.
