Computer Labs Technical Support Specialist 1 performs operations and technical functions and provides first and second level technical support to students and staff in the labs. This position also supports all areas covered by the ITS Computer Lab Operations group, which includes the 500-seat TECH Center, HSC TECH Center, Laptop Share and Battery Share programs, Tuttleman Computer Classrooms, and the supported ancillary computers labs. Works with other full-time employees to oversee lab operations. At times, this position will supervise student workers on the same shift, and other times will work with other full-time staff to manage the lab, specialty areas of the lab, and lab related systems. Assists with imaging computers, setting up labs, and researching new and emerging technologies. Trains student workers on specialized resources through an established training program. This position will also be assigned to other lab technical areas/systems and be responsible for learning the operations of those areas. Will be in rotation for emergency calls during nights/weekends.
Regularly scheduled hours are 1:00pm-10:00pm Tuesdays-Thursdays and 10:00am-7:00pm Fridays-Saturdays. The schedule may change during breaks, intersession periods, finals, and the regular schedule may change depending on university needs, or if coverage is needed during a weather emergency. This is an on-premises position. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree and at least one (1) year related technical experience. PC and Mac hardware and software troubleshooting experience. Experience with mobile device troubleshooting and configuration. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:
* Demonstrated ability to assist people who require help with technical tasks.
* Demonstrated knowledge of intermediate printing troubleshooting 
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365. 
* Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.
* Basic understanding of PC and/or Mac imaging and concepts.
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to effectively interact with diverse groups of individuals.
* Ability to move under tables to run cables from computers to power and network ports.
* Ability to work the following days/shifts:
1:00pm-10:00pm Tuesdays-Thursdays and 10:00am-7:00pm Fridays-Saturdays. The schedule may change during breaks, intersession periods, finals, and the regular schedule may change depending on university needs, or if coverage is needed during a weather emergency.

Preferred:
* Equipment loan software experience.
* Printing management software experience.
* Troubleshooting connections to Apple TV and Kramer devices.
* Poster printing experience – ability to format for poster printing and troubleshoot poster printing issues.
* Inkjet printing experience – ability to format for inkjet printing and troubleshoot inkjet printing issues.
* Prior work experience in a computer lab either as a student worker, part time, or full-time staff.

This position requires a background check.
