This position is designed to provide highly effective, informed, strategic and hands-on support to Center for Education Preparation (CEP) staff in the work to promote and support quality teacher preparation — particularly in the field of literacy — through the four pillars of the CEP’s Professional Development School Model: Educator Preparation, Faculty Development, Inquiry Directed at the Improvement of Practice, and Enhanced Student Engagement. This requires intentional collaboration with and among CEP faculty within and outside the School of Education, as well as school district partners to provide and promote the connection of pre-service and in-service teacher development. Opportunities to teach within CEP, as well as support field placements as part of the undergraduate program experience, will be paramount to the position.

The Non-Tenure Track, Assistant Professor position in the Center for Educator Preparation and School of Education, within the College of Health and Human Sciences is a 9-month, full-time position. The successful applicant will have a strong literacy background, a willingness to serve in a broad variety of roles to support pre-service teachers, and be dedicated to the mission of the Department, including the growth of the undergraduate secondary program. The position will include teaching, coaching field experiences, co-leading the Undergraduate Secondary Instructional Team, and supporting instructors in the undergraduate program. The successful applicant will have knowledge and experience in the field of literacy, innovative instructional (re)design and/or curriculum development. Summer teaching opportunities may be available.
