It is a highly multidisciplinary department with a strong focus on using approaches from public health informatics and data science to improve the totality of human health and reduce health disparities.Launched in 2017, the Center for Health Outcomes and Informatics Research (CHOIR) anchors a collaborative mission of people-centered education and people-centered care shared by Loyola University Chicago and Loyola University Health System through education, research and service to others. In the Jesuit tradition, the phrase cura personalis speaks to a distinctive person-centered approach to education. As the department is developing its graduate programs, we welcome applicants who excel in developing coursework across the spectrum of biomedical informatics and precision public health.The ideal candidate at the assistant professor level will demonstrate potential for developing a strong independent research program and securing extramural funding. At the associate professor level, the ideal candidate will have an established research program with consistent federal funding.The selected candidate will join and work with a robust and highly innovative team that will define the cutting edge of biomedical informatics research. They will build strong collaborations with public health and healthcare professionals at the institution, in the region, and nationally.
