The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full time University Staff (unclassified) Innovations Program Manager position. This is a new position.

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking an experienced leader to our team who will be responsible for the New DOPSYCH Office of Innovations. The Innovations Program Manager is responsible for evaluating and managing operational functions by taking the initiative to strategize, ensuring financial goals are met, coordinating innovations work across programs, office, and divisions in the DOPSYCH and with DOPSYCH's external innovations partners, and fostering an environment of teamwork. The Innovations Program Manager will coordinate across a diverse range of teams from clinicians, researchers, and administrative employees engaged in innovations. A business mind, creative and innovative thinking, collaborative approach, and patient-focused values are essential to succeeding in this role.

Examples of Work Performed
  • Manage day to day operations of the Innovations Office to include multiple budgets and a growing portfolio of projects and appropriate staff supervision. This position will be responsible for coordinating multiple staff across the department who will engage in various projects within the Office's portfolio. The Program Manager will be responsible for coordinating with and providing feedback to appropriate direct supervisors (faculty and staff).
  • Actively create structure and processes to support DOPSYCH Innovations work, including research processes, industry interface, and ongoing communications.
  • Understand and maintain legality and regulatory issues and compliance for innovations.
  • Support the program lines and their directors within the office (Technology, Therapeutics, Care Redesign).
  • Work with the University's Innovations group to develop community and industry partnerships, develop proposals including budgets, review and edit contracts, manage contracts and deliverables, actively seek out new partnerships, and manage regulatory issues as relates to each project within the portfolio. Manage intellectual property issues as well as patents or trademarks.
  • Closely collaborate, work with, and develop structures and processes to interface with internal DOPSYCH partners (Divisions, Program, Offices) and external partners.
  • Proactively strategize and take initiative to advance the organization, including finding and managing project opportunities.
  • Work with business intelligence and subject matter experts to produce data driven results using systems such as EPIC, RedCap, etc.
  • Manage communication with the Office, including developing a website, creation and management of social media and external and internal partners.
  • Track Innovations activities across DOPSYCH and its partners and develop audience specific reports for theses (funders, DOPSYCH leadership, external partners). Create annual reports and materials for partners regarding status and outcomes of projects.
  • Identify opportunities for braided funding streams including new mechanisms of support including but not limited to, direct contracts, government and private grants, foundation and donor support, equity options, support agreements with hospital partners, etc. Expertly manage each to ensure that the portfolio is sustainable and actively growing.
  • Work with Boards or advisory groups as well as coordinate with individual subject matter experts across multiple campuses as well as in the community.
  • Understand and track interests of faculty throughout the department to leverage expertise as opportunities present themselves or work with individuals who are approached by potential partners.
  • Work closely with CU's Advancement office and external foundations to manage and solicit grants and gifts.
  • Work closely with Psychiatry Research Innovations and the Office of Grants and Contracts on grant submissions and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Healthcare related field.
  • Experience managing a blended portfolio of contracts with industry partners, government agencies, and healthcare organizations including but not limited to telehealth and research programs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and other health care data systems
  • Strong technology skills and working knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Experience with healthcare industry and managing collaborations between industry and academia
  • Master's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • Proficient experience in operations, business management, organizational behavior, and data management
  • Experience in University of Colorado Peoplesoft HR systems
  • Experience in University of Colorado grant management and financial systems

Conditions of Employment
  • Must be willing and able to work a hybrid schedule and travel off campus when job duties require.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $70,210 - $89,020.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
