Location

Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary The Tenure-Track Biology Faculty is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in biology, conducting research in their field of expertise, and providing service to the department, university, and community. This position also involves working towards achieving tenure through the demonstration of excellence in teaching, research, and service.

Responsibilities

Teach courses in biology, including laboratory courses, at the undergraduate and graduate level

Develop and maintain curriculum for biology courses

Advise and mentor students in pursuing excellence

Conduct research in a specific area of biology and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals

Participate in departmental, university, and professional service activities

Participate in departmental and university committees as needed

Attend departmental and university meetings as required

Stay current with developments in the field of biology through professional development and continued learning

Prepare and submit tenure and promotion materials as required by the department and university

Required Qualifications Education

Ph.D. in Biology or a related field (Specialization in Environmental Science, Biomedical, Genetics, and Microbiology backgrounds are highly desired)

Experience

Strong teaching experience at the college level

Strong research background and a proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

A strong commitment to the pursuit of tenure

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate with different age groups along with students of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. In addition, communication should be central to teaching strategies, advisement and academic preparation.

Proposed Salary

Salary range from $45,000 to $55,000
