Job Description:


Title: College for Kids Health Supervisor


Unit: PT Non Unit Staff


Department: Institutional Advancement/ Community Education


Reports to: Dean, Workforce Development and Innovation


Date: January 27, 2023


General Summary: The College for Kids Health Supervisor provides advice, review, and daily oversight and coverage of health-related requirements and issues pertaining to the College for Kids and Teens programs running from July 10th-August 17th 2023 on the Bedford or Lowell Campus.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the health and safety of students and staff; provide first aid and dispense medication
  • Make daily calls to students who are absent
  • Communicate specific health needs to parents and staff
  • Maintain health records according to Clinical Guidelines for School Nurses
  • Participate as a member of an emergency response team that coordinates appropriate action in an emergency
  • Provide logistical and programmatic support to instructors in the classroom and on field trips
  • Provide administrative assistance when needed
  • Attend a mandatory training prior to the start of the College for Kids and Teens program


Requirements:


  • Massachusetts licensed physician assistant, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, EMT or other first aid credentials
  • Current certification in first aid and CPR
  • Experience working with youth programs
  • Ability to comprehend and comply with Department of Public Health summer camp regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound judgments and adapt to changing schedules in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Ability to travel between Bedford and Lowell campuses during posted work hours
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, database and Internet software applications
  • Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, veterans, and individuals with different academic preparation levels and varying physical and learning abilities.


Additional Information:


Hourly Rate: $23.75 per hour in accordance with MCC's Part-Time Wage Schedule


Location: Bedford campus with occasional travel to Lowell as needed


Hours: 32 hours per week, 8:00am - 4:30pm or 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday. Schedule and hours per week are contingent upon adequate enrollments.


Expected Start Date: March, 2023
