Responsibilities

Perform daily parking lot/facility and equipment maintenance assignments as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Superintendent, Assistant Director, or Director. Maintenance responsibilities include but are not limited to: picking up garbage, cleaning garages and parking lots, pavement markings (e.g., stall lines, directional arrows, and stenciling), informational and directional signage, gravel lot dragging, parking lot/facility repairs (e.g., potholes and leaks), repair/replacement of crossties, repair/replacement of traffic control devices, repair/replacement of wheel stops, lot/facility graffiti removal, lot/facility lighting maintenance, general lot/facility upkeep, repair/replacement of parking access and revenue control equipment, fabrication of access control gates, programming of access cards, and departmental vehicle maintenance.

Fabricate parking and transportation-related informational and directional signage. Signage responsibilities include but are not limited to checking existing signs and reporting issues to the Maintenance Supervisor, repairing damaged signs, assisting with the design of new/replacement signs, preparing sign materials (e.g., preparing the metal and other materials for use as signs and preparing vinyl letters/graphics), constructing signs, and installing signs and signposts.

Conduct daily parked vehicle counts in campus parking structures to update the parking count system and associated signs and applications.

Qualifications

Completion of ninth grade.

Ability to meet physical demand of this position to include standing for long periods of time, kneeling, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting/moving, pushing and pulling heavy loads weighing up to 75 lbs and ability to work in all weather conditions.

Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment and materials used in area of work.

A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver´s license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

Anticipated Salary Range

$12 per hour
