YOUR OPPORTUNITY

A major part of the mandate of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine Human Resources Office is to provide professional support for the recruitment, appointment, promotion and retention of the Faculty’s over 9,000 faculty members.

As Academic HR Coordinator, you will work as part of an academic HR team dedicated to providing the highest quality of service to academic units across the Temerty Faculty of Medicine and the Dalla Lana School of Public. Drawing upon your exceptional customer service and communication skills, you will serve as the first point of contact for our Academic HR office, administer benefit plans and conduct benefits orientations, coordinate workshops, maintain and track data and provide a broad range of administrative support to our team as it relates to academic and clinical appointments, salaries, promotions, appointment reviews, tenure and sabbatical leaves. Your demonstrated ability to anticipate stakeholder needs and to adapt to changing circumstances will make you an indispensable member of our team.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years' progressive human resources experience, including experience in benefit administration
  • Experience serving as a first point of contact, screening in-person and online inquiries, managing calendars and coordinating meetings
  • Experience supporting committees and events
  • Experience dealing with sensitive and confidential matters is essential
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, human resources information/management systems, content management systems and virtual meeting platforms
  • Professional demeanor with a strong customer service orientation and effective presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills, superior attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities
  • Tact and discretion to recognize and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Strong client focus with an awareness of and sensitivity to diversity
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Creative problem-solver
  • Excellent follow-through skills and proven ability to take initiative
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

ASSETS (NONESSENTIAL)

  • Completion of related professional development courses in pursuit of a CEBS or CHRP designation
