Responsible for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospective donors in the pursuit of campaign objectives and advancement projects. Will serve as an ambassador for the College; and work with the President and Vice President, as part of the Advancement Team to facilitate philanthropic support through individual giving from alumni, parents and friends of the College.

Education:

    Bachelor’s DegreeMaster’s Degree preferred
Experience:

    Progressive experience with a demonstrated ability to raise philanthropic support in individual giving, preferably in higher education. Prior experience in annual, major or endowed giving is highly desirable, as is campaign experience.
Skills and Knowledge:

    Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Solid organizational skills and ability to set priorities, adjust to peak periods in the workflow and carry out duties independently as a self-starter. Working knowledge of major gifts and planned giving fund raising instruments and programs, fund raising soliciting policies, and development practices and methods. Understanding of related Internal Revenue Service laws and regulations and charitable giving principles.Interpersonal skills to interact with a wide variety of prospects and donors in individual, group and event settings.Ability to solicit major gifts from alumni, parents and friends of the College.Ability to use database systems for collecting, recording and updating prospect and donor information.Motivation to work as a member of a highly effective team.Determination to perform daily recurring tasks while at the same time working on various longer-term departmental projects.Ability to interact effectively with College staff and constituency.Sensitivity, good judgment and the ability to handle highly confidential material and information.
Essential Duties:

    Facilitate “Moves Management” (Identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, close and stewardship) for a portfolio of approximately 200 prospects. Plan and execute a high level of activity with the use of research, interaction and participation in frequent prospect review meetings with members of the IA team. Schedule and perform personal visits with potential donors to cultivate interest and ultimately secure major gifts.Develop and present proposals to prospective donors that illustrate needs and inspire giving.Solicit and close major gifts from alumni, parents and friends of the College.Provide follow-up documentation and next steps through debriefing prospect visits in concert with the Advancement Team and the Strategic Plan for the Institutional Advancement & Events Division of the College.Enter and maintain “Moves Management”, and related activity, of assigned prospect and donor portfolio in the Advancement database. Assist in identifying and introducing prospects who should be connected to the College’s leadership or who indicate interest in planned giving.Maintain regular schedule of stewardship with donors and prospects through visits, callsand written correspondence.Attend scheduled events, sometimes evenings and weekends, to facilitate Advancement objectives.Frequent regional and national travel is required.
