Job Summary
Provide information and advice to prospective and current students and parents regarding availability of student financial aid and scholarship programs and related eligibility requirements . Process applications for student financial aid. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Scholarship & Financial Aid management and staff, students, prospective students and parents. This position typically will advise and counsel: students, prospective students and parents. This position will supervise: NA.
ResponsibilitiesJob Duty 1 -
Serve as primary contact for providing information regarding the financial aid/scholarship availability and application process.
Job Duty 2 -
Verify applicant eligibility and process applications.
Job Duty 3 -
Prepare award packages in compliance with all applicable requirements.
Job Duty 4 -
Maintain student financial aid records, files and reports.
Job Duty 5 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications
Each Student Financial Aid Advisor II is responsible for a designated case load of more than 3000 students. In order to provide quality customer service while ensuring compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures the Advisor must possess a keen attention to detail; the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks; must understand and utilize available technology and must deliver competent, effective and efficient services to a diverse student population.
Required Experience
One to two years of job related experience
SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of the application and award process for student financial aid. Skills in interpersonal communications, customer service, detail orientation and multi-tasking are required as are use of office related and specialized computer applications and databases.
This is a supervisory position.
This position has any financial responsibilities.
No, this position will not be required to drive.
This role is considered a position of trust.
This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card).
This position will not travel
This position does not require security clearance.
