Part- time Adjunct Assistant Professor

The Department of Pharmacology at Tulane University School of Medicine invites applicants to apply for a part-time  Adjunct Assistant Professor on the non-tenure track for teaching a variety Pharmacology courses in its master’s and medical pharmacology program.  Adjunct Assistant Professor will focus on providing high-level teaching expertise in pharmacology principles, theories, concepts, methods and techniques.   Teaching duties will include delivery of lectures to graduate and medical students as well as participation in active learning sessions of graduate and medical students.   The candidate will be required to design course syllabus and corresponding handouts; facilitate class instruction; teach assigned classes in accordance with the Department of Pharmacology learning objective, and syllabus outlines; evaluate student performance based on course deliverables and rubrics; provide detailed timely feedback; submit grades for assignments, quizzes, and exams; adhere to Tulane University protocols and the faculty handbook; and other duties as assigned.  Additionally, specific duties and distribution of effort in teaching, and service duties will be determined by the Department Chair.

 


Qualifications:
  1. PhD., MD. or equivalent degree 
  2. Three years prior experience in teaching  in a health professional program is required. 
  3. Preference will be given to candidates who are outstanding teachers.
