Job Description:


Basic Functions and Responsibilities:


Under general supervision, provide support for Windows and Macintosh desktop clients and packaged administrative and academic applications running on desktops, laptops, local servers, and the cloud. Support is provided through identification, evaluation, purchase, installation and post installation.



Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Create, manage and automate the deployment of applications, scripts, and packages using SCCM, Jamf, InstallShield and other tools.
  • Configure, deploy and maintain Windows and Macintosh desktop clients, including building and maintaining operating system images, resolving issues, and monitoring performance.
  • Implement and manage security compliance of Windows and Macintosh desktop clients and applications. Research, plan, and deploy vulnerability patches and software security updates.
  • Provide tier 2/3 technical applications support for the IT helpdesk and other IT teams. Work with other IT Department employees to facilitate installation, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Working with the Data Center staff, install, upgrade, and maintain application servers supporting Windows and Macintosh desktops (licensing, SCCM, WSUS, etc.).
  • Working with the Data Center staff, configure and install multi-tier packaged Server or Cloud based applications.
  • Perform Active Directory administration functions related to desktop systems and applications including Group Policy, user and group provisioning, and user and file share permissions.
  • Generate and maintain documentation about software installation, configuration inventory, and technical support.
  • Utilize programming skills to create and modify scripts and configuration files for optimal system performance and automation.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.



Requirements:


Qualifications and Working Conditions:


  • Bachelor's degree with specific course work in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written are required.
  • Strong team work, attention to details and organizational skills are required.
  • Two years of experience with Microsoft Windows Active Directory is required. Experience with System Center Configuration Manager is preferred.
  • Two years of experience with Windows 10/11 operating systems is required
  • Two years of experience with deploying operating systems and applications in a Microsoft Windows environment is preferred.
  • Programming Skills in PowerShell or other scripting languages is preferred.
  • Ability to interact professionally and tactfully with people of different levels of education, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences, and to exhibit an adequate level of respect to fellow employees and the College community at large is required.

Physical Demands:


Light lifting up to 10 lbs. and light carrying up to 10 lbs. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping. Mobility to move from building to building on-Campus and to visit off-Campus entities. Work is performed in a general office environment and is sedentary in nature. Little or no exposure to adverse working conditions.

Administrative and functional supervision is received from the Director of Systems and Network Services.

None.


HOURS - Monday - Friday - 8:15 am - 5:00 pm


SALARY: $65,958


Based on the needs of the college and with Administrator approval, some positions at the college may have remote or hybrid schedule options available. Please note, that during the 65 working day probationary period, employees are required to report to campus.
