Description Searching for a dedicated person to helping students navigate through the financial aid process when things get tough or unexpected. You need drive, confidence & ambition in order to be able to help our student be successful when the easy road is giving up! Working closely not only with student’s, their family, their situation & other members in student services to ensure all avenues have been checked, forms filled & possibilities assessed.
This is fast-paced work which requires you to maintain your own organizational methods to meet multiple deadlines & direct communication with students on a daily basis. Does this sound like you because we need someone to jump in with both feet, so do it now & fill out the application!

Pay Rate: $19.50 /hr
Schedule: Generally M-F 8a-5p or 9a-6 varies; NCAT Campus


Quick Glance of Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Utilizes Navigate, Banner, and other financial aid or enrollment management technology to support recruitment, advising and retention of students while they progress through the financial aid process.
  2. Assists in the development of defined goals for student retention, persistence, and completion that are ambitious but attainable and appropriate to the mission, student populations, and educational offerings.
  3. Assists in the collection and analysis of information on student retention, persistence, and completion in WSU Tech programs and offerings.
  4. Participates and serves on assigned committees to champion student retention, persistence and completion initiatives.
  5. Advise students of financial options available to them to meet college costs, make recommendations as appropriate within established regulations and guidelines.
  6. Works with Faculty, Staff administration and students to implement retention initiatives and track progress toward goals.
  7. Interacts in a professional manner with students and parents in challenging situations to help them resolve financial issues relating to financial aid eligibility and monetary awards.
  8. Assists with the financial aid processing for students as needed to complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
  9. At all times, engages in and promotes legal compliance, policy compliance, and safety in the WSU Tech workplace.

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills Needed
    Bachelor’s degree preferred.Familiarity with Banner and Navigate preferred.Bilingual preferred.Experience with Department of Education rules & regulations preferred.Ability to perform Financial Aid presentations virtually, on campus and/or in the Wichita community, required. Ability to work evening hours, after 6pm, required. Professional-level communication skills, including excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively with others in arriving at solutions to complex problems.Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.Flexibility to work at different campuses based on students’ needs.
