Applications are invited for a Temporary, 18 Months post of a Research Assistant within UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science.

Applications are invited for an 18-month Research Assistant position as part of "HOLOS-IE" project funded by the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI). It is comprised of an agricultural systems modeler, programmer, GIS specialist, and academics/researchers from other areas such as crop science, animal science, climatology, and forestry/agroforestry, and a non-academic societal impact champion.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of an international, transdisciplinary team (PI: Dr. Ibrahim Khalil and Co-PI: Dr. Anca Jurcut). The activities of the Research Assistant will be to upgrade a promising systems-based model (HOLOS - an open-source Canadian Model) tested in Ireland considering Irish farming systems, (iii) develop a digital platform (HOLOS-IE) to address land uses and management issues to achieve sustainable agricultural farming while reducing greenhouse gases (GHGs) and environmental pollution, and (iv) promote activities to have a wider societal impact including at policy levels. It is anticipated that the role will commence in February 2023, or shortly thereafter.

Salary Range: 28,701- 38,390 per annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
