Departmental Objective:

Our mission is to serve quality products with fast and friendly service in a clean atmosphere.

Purpose of the Position:

Prepares front of the house operation necessary for the efficient and timely service of meals to residential students and guests. Assigns and monitors jobs/activities of subordinate personnel. Assures presentation of dining room. During special events/picnics coordinates all front of the house needs in accordance with quality assurance guidelines and sanitation for customer needs.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) and/or Competencies required and preferred:

Required: Ability to communicate in writing or verbally to both supervisors and subordinates. Basic math skills. Good organizational skills. Ability to monitor multiple tasks concurrently. Must be able to work days, evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :

Education Required: High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience Required: Previous retail and cash handling experience. Supervisory experience. Previous experience as host/hostess of a restaurant or dining room.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Preferred :

Education Preferred: ServSafe Certified

Experience Preferred
: Previous experience guiding tour groups through dining locations. Previous experience decorating for special events/catering. Previous experience in preparing dining room for meal service, focusing on sanitation. Previous catering/banquet experience. Previous experience at a college/university.

Salary Information:

Starting at $27,200 Commensurate with Education and Experience
