Job Summary: The Associate Research Professional should show a high level of achievement and impact as appropriate for the position’s duties. Oversees research projects and assumes responsibility for the day-to-day activity supporting the project. Contributes significantly to the planning and design of research and creative projects. May assist in both short-term and long-term planning and project goals, as well as in research and creative proposals and dissemination of project findings. This is only a representation of possible duties and is not an all-inclusive listing.

Additional Department Summary: This position is responsible for administratively managing large, complex research studies. The individual will: provide input in the development of program plans and objectives with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters, supervise a small staff, be responsible for long-range planning, networking with community partners, technical training and assistance including managing compliance issues, research data collection, and report writing.
This individual will serve as the point person to lead and coordinate outreach and engagement with community partners. The position will manage research technicians, patient navigators, and student assistants.

The daily activities for this position will include but are not limited to: leading study staff, ensure staff are properly trained to recruit, schedule and collect data, ensure that all research compliance protocols are approved and followed by staff, manage research supplies ensuring they are ordered. The position will also ensure all pieces of research protocols are met including maintaining the master schedule for participants. Oversee all study related data reporting. Actively participate in regular meetings Overseeing all training for research/ staff members. Daily attention to detail is required. Properly leading the members of the research team will be a central activity for this position.

The Associate Research Professional –should show evidence of competence and demonstrated promise of moving towards excellence in professional leadership, and practice. Individuals in this track level independently contribute to the planning and implementation of research, as well as support research such as data analysis, monitoring outcomes, performing lab maintenance, and/or performing experiments of ALRI affiliated faculty. Will also mentor/train undergraduate and graduate students.

Required Minimum Qualifications: A relevant post-Baccalaureate degree is highly preferred (Master’s degree or higher). For candidates demonstrating exceptional comparable independent research productivity, a relevant four-year undergraduate degree (B.A. or B.S.) and four (4) or more years of documented relevant experience may be substituted. May require terminal degree and licensure.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and extensive demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work well on teams and experience training students.

Preferred Qualifications: Some experience working with patients in a research environment and working with MRI and EEG is desired.
