Job Description:
Project Recognition, Empowerment, and Action for Child mental Health (REACH) in The Counselor Education Program at The University of Florida is currently accepting applications for a REACH project coordinator. This is a grant-funded, part-time (20 hours per week) position. Project REACH is a federally-funded training grant that involves training adults in Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA), a program to help adults recognize the signs for when youth 12-18 need mental health support and to know how to help them.
Successful applicants will demonstrate good organizational and communication skills. We are seeking someone with good intercultural skills and the ability to develop strong community outreach/presence. The position is contingent on continued grant funding, but currently the project is renewable for a 5-year period. Experience in counseling or community mental health is desirable.
The appointment will begin in March, 2022 or as soon as filled. The Counselor Education Program is housed within the School of Human Development and Organizational Studies in the College of Education. Responsibilities:
- Attend project team meetings
- Assist with recruitment for YMHFA trainings.
- Outreach to build and sustain community partnerships.
- Organize program activities (e.g., ordering training materials, organizing trainings)
- Collect and manage data (e.g., Excel) and assist in reporting to the funding agency
- Assist with website and social media/marketing development and maintenance
- Attend meetings with funding agency as requested
