SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Coordinate incoming transfer evaluation process. Evaluates incoming transcripts submitted by prospective and current students in preparation for student enrollment, degree planning, and advisement. Assists students transferring from AWC to four-year colleges and universities. Assist the Director of Transfer Services with implementing and evaluating the District-wide transfer programs for students.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Serves Students. Supervise all processes and procedures concerning the evaluation of transfer credit and periodically evaluate and make changes in those procedures as needed. Generate transfer credit documents and notify students of the transcript evaluation results. Evaluate all transcripts for possible credit, including AP, CLEP, IB, Certifications, and foreign and military transcripts. Maintains individual student files and documentation. Initiates contact with credit-granting institutions when required for ease of transfer. Monitors official transfer transcripts to verify the authenticity and determine the accreditation status of the transfer institution. Analyzes transfer courses to determine course equivalency/credit and convert them to semester hours. Responsible for entering all transfer credit data into the student data system in Ellucian Colleague. Provide direct supervision of front staff including coordinating and delegating work, coaching, and performance management.

Communicate and work closely with academic departments to include program directors, chairs, deans, and VPs for course description reviews, and special student requests as it relates to evaluation credit. Manage all PLA data and work closely with the Director of Curriculum, Assessment, and Scheduling to post and update all PLA credits. Reviews course syllabi, course descriptions, college catalogs, and other documents to properly evaluate and equate transfer courses. Initiates contact with credit-granting institutions when required for ease of transfer. Work closely with the Graduate Specialist on degree audit and transfer evaluation as it relates to Reverse Transfer initiatives.

Coordinate, implement, and manage the evaluation of the District-wide transfer programs for students. Consults and collaborates with other offices and campus centers to provide transfer services to students in the two-county District. Performs audits of and corrections to student files, and updates staff on administrative and/or work-related changes. Assist in coordinating activities in transfer areas to include training and updates. Compiles analyzes and submits monthly required reports to Supervisors. Utilize and update data in college software daily to include Ellucian Colleague, and TES (Transcript Evaluation System). Conducts regular reviews of transfer programs ensuring effectiveness and intent. Required to maintain current in the required fields of professional expertise and competencies by participating in training, workshops, and industry-recognized publications.

Assist Transfer Program Coordinator in all events, activities, services, and field trips to enhance university preparedness and transition. Updates information on the AWC Transfer website, digital screen, and any other form of promoting transfer events. Develops and oversees ongoing transfer center information.

Supports, leads, and participates in institutional strategic planning initiatives and committees. Performs other duties assigned.

CLOSING DATE:
