Duties & Responsibilities- Conduct scholarly activities including grant preparation and submission, mentoring of graduate student researchers, publication of results, and development of an externally funded research program.
- Grow externally funded research by working with the faculty to develop research programs and pursue opportunities for grants and industry-sponsored projects.
- Drive curriculum changes that attract new students and grow enrollment. This includes the development of new online and on-campus courses that use high-impact practices to ensure students are prepared for a variety of careers.
- Collaborate with other units in the College and across campus, including UND’s Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC).
- Work closely with alumni, Petroleum Engineering’s industry advisory council, and external stakeholders, such as the North Dakota Industrial Commission.
- Participate in school, college, university, and professional service activities, as appropriate
- Experience or demonstrated ability working with diverse groups and students.
- Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 10 years of combined experience that includes either academic, and/or industry positions, but with strong ties to education.
- Expertise and a strong publication record in Petroleum Engineering.
- Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications- 5 years of teaching and/or research experience in Petroleum Engineering.
- Experience working in an academic unit or industry.

Contract Period/Start DateDates of initial contract are August 16, 2023 to May 15, 2024.
