Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
The IT systems engineer will be responsible fordemonstrating excellent technical competency, delivering mission criticalinfrastructure, and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance,and security. A well sought candidate will be very well organized with a strongunderstanding of core infrastructure. Due to the nature of the position, workwill be conducted on-site as described in additional duties.

WORK SCHEDULE
Work schedule may extend beyond regular office hours of 8amto 5pm Monday through Friday as needed or necessary to deliver on commitments

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
-Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
-Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
-Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
-Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identifying possible solutions, and work with other teams to implement fixes
-Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
-Write, document, and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency while lowering human intervention time on any tasks
-Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
-Provide tier 3 level support
-Liaison with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
-Perform other duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
-Work occasional long and/or irregular hours and will be part of an on-call rotation
-Work to be performed at the office/on and off campus
-The data center, the disaster recovery site, construction sites, etc.
-Work in both environmentally controlled and non-environmentally controlled environments
-Will be required to maintain a cellular or other electronic communication device to field network outage calls

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 70 lbs, able toperform work in very tight places, able to climb ladders and work overhead,stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and performrepetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
-High school Diploma
-At least eight (8) years of related experience
-Proficient in oral and written communication
-Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision
-Possess strong analytical skills
-Excellent communication and inter-personal skills

Preferred Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or degree in related field
-Ten (10) or more years related experience in Information Technology
-Acquiring or have a Microsoft certification (MCSA or MCSE)
-Knowledge and experience working with virtual/cloud core infrastructure and architecture
-Knowledge and experience with a wide variety of enterprise systems and applications
-Knowledge and experience in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.
-Knowledge and experience with MDM solutions
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Must be dependable and deliver on commitments
-Excellent at working efficiently both as a team member and independently
-Great problem-solving skills with an enthusiasm for life-long learning
