About the College/Unit/Department:As the 4th largest public college of education in the country and the 3rd largest college at UGA, the Mary Frances Early College of Education (MFE COE) improves the lives of residents of Georgia and beyond through our instruction, research, and service. The MFE COE is a comprehensive college with disciplines focused on teacher preparation, counseling and human development, communication sciences, human movement sciences, career development, student affairs, and educational administration and policy. We place significant emphasis on graduate education with approximately 40% of our students at the graduate level, making us the second largest college at UGA with respect to graduate education.
Named for Mary Frances Early, UGA’s first African American graduate, in February 2020, the MFE COE has a long and distinguished history as a leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Position Summary:The position functions primarily as a graduate student recruiter and as coordinator for visitors to the Mary Frances Early College of Education. The coordinator confers with prospective students and works with others at UGA to provide them with timely information. The coordinator interacts with students in an advisory role, enforces policy, provides training, and resolves problems. The coordinator interacts with community members, supervises volunteers, and serves as liaison to other offices on campus. The coordinator contributes to goal-setting, planning, and assessment.

Duties/Responsibilities:Graduate Student Recruitment (MAT Programs)Lead efforts to recruit prospective graduate students.
- Create and implement annual recruitment strategies and maintain records
- Attend graduate school fairs on campuses across Georgia
- Coordinate with Communications Office and departments on recruitment materials
- Schedule on-campus visits for individual prospective graduate students in coordination with appropriate program faculty
- Plan and implement on-campus event(s) for prospective graduate students
- Connect prospective graduate students with the appropriate faculty coordinator and department
- Engage with faculty and program managers of general evaluation of recruitment efforts

Duties/Responsibilities:Visitation CoordinationProvide leadership to initiatives related to visits of prospective students and other community members.
- Serve as contact person for campus visit inquiries from prospective undergraduate and transfer students
- Coordinate with the Office of Undergraduate Advising on academic questions
- Coordinate with Coordinator of Student Engagement and Student Ambassadors on campus visits
- Plan and carry out College tours for prospective students and their families
- Serve as liaison with UGA Admissions Office
- Work with web team to design and maintain prospective student visit forms and web features
- Coordinate Experience UGA visits
- Coordinate with UGA Admissions to attend recruitment events (e.g., First Look), orientations, career fairs, and other programs
- Assist with coordinating PAGE Future Educators’ Day

Duties/Responsibilities:Peer Mentor ProgramProvide leadership for MFE COE Peer Mentor Program.
- Manage application, interview, and selection process of mentors
- Develop and oversee training for new and returning volunteers
- Develop program goals and initiatives for the year
- Provide on-going support to mentors and mentees
- Oversee mid–year review process for all new mentors
- Connect mentors and mentees with UGA services, as appropriate
