Position Summary:

The Department of Kinesiology in the School of Education and Health Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a full-time non tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Athletic Training, to begin summer 2023. The successful candidate will teach in the master of athletic training program and kinesiology department, advise and mentor athletic training students, engage in scholarship, and support the athletic training program. The candidate will be able to identify an area of contemporary expertise within athletic training. An ongoing or developing scholarly agenda within the context of athletic training, including that related to social determinants of health, health informatics, health equity, or scholarship of athletic training education is of particular interest. In addition to the Master of Athletic Training program, the School of Education and Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate health professions programs including Nutrition Science, Health Science, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies in a collaborative and interprofessional environment.
Applicants must have a minimum of a post-professional master’s degree in a related field; an earned doctoral degree or an in-progress degree is strongly preferred. Applicants must be certified by the Board of Certification and must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an athletic trainer in Illinois. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship. Applicants who are skilled in using innovative and student-centered pedagogical strategies are particularly valued.
