Department Information While a dedicated focus on academic pursuits is key, success in college is also determined by a student’s level of connection and involvement with the campus community, as well as how much they practice the various dimensions of wellness. The newly created Division of Student Engagement and Well-Being (SEWB) complements the classroom experience and promotes student success at Georgia Tech through a comprehensive portfolio of activities, functions, and programs that:
- Facilitate life transitions Enhance and support learning Cultivate leadership and civic responsibility Respond to the holistic needs of students from various backgrounds and identities.
Provide liaison services between functional user and technical systems groups in the development or modification of typically complex information systems. Lead in definition of user business requirements and assure they are appropriately addressed in application implementation. Redefine business processes to maximize application usage as required. This position will interact on a consistent basis with faculty and staff in the Division of Student Engagement and Well-being, as well as with relevant partners in other administrative/cabinet areas on campus. This position typically will advise and counsel: assigned user group management and staff, technical project management and staff. This position will not supervise.
ResponsibilitiesJob Duty 1 -
Document and analyze more complex user business processes and requirements; identify solutions including modification of business process

Develop specifications and test plans associated with system development or modification

Advise and support technical group in systems development

Lead testing of new or modified systems

Provide communications link between user and technical group

Prepare reports and other documentation related to system assignments
Job Duty 7 -
Provide ongoing user support including troubleshooting and resolution of more complex system issues

Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or IT related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Eight to ten years of job related experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), Tableau/Microsoft/IBM Business Analytics, or similar BI certification. Lean certification, or similar process improvement certification.
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, or related field.
ABILITIES
Excellent analytical and forecasting ability. Ability to work in a team-based model, partnering with team members to drive initiatives to completion
KNOWLEDGE
Understand and appreciate good BI design, usability, repeatability for scale, and maintainability of a BI environment. Data analytics.
SKILLS
This job requires an advanced knowledge of various documentation processes, business system architecture and associated technologies; advanced skills in data organization and analysis, problem solving, systems documentation and report writing as applied within assigned system(s); skills in functional leadership and cross communication between functional user and technical groups; ability to manage work on multiple projects with competing priorities; strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor communication to different audiences; effective analytical and presentation skills; excellent organizational, time management skills, and professionalism; self-motivated and able to work independently.
