Job Summary

The Staff Mental Health Provider serves as a clinical staff member within the Office of Counseling and Psychological Services. This position provides essential support to the campus by providing clinical services to GGC students, as well as outreach to the campus community.

Responsibilities
  • Provides short-term counseling services to GGC students. Includes individual and group counseling, clinical consultations, walk- in appointments, and crisis interventions
  • Provides outreach presentations and programming to the campus community
  • Consults with GGC faculty, staff, and students to provide advice and support in assisting students in distress
  • Collaborates with other campus departments in order to promote mental health awareness and resources
  • Participates in didactic trainings for practicum students and/or postdoctoral fellows
  • Participates in the after-hours on-call rotation for addressing campus crisis interventions
  • Participate as a team member in Student Affairs
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, or Community Counseling, or from a program primarily Counseling in Content/Program in Applied Psychology
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia by date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a college counseling center
  • Experience in providing individual, couples, and/or group therapy; crisis counseling, and/or other clinical psychological services.
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision and didactics to trainees
  • Experience with diverse populations on a college campus
  • Experience using Titanium or an electronic health record
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, other departments, and/or students groups
  • Demonstrated commitment to multiculturalism and experience with diverse populations
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written skills

Position requires local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus.
