Applications are invited for a specified purpose post of a School Administrator within UCD School of Civil Engineering.

This is a temporary position to provide cover for maternity leave. Working under the direction of the School Manager, the post holder will be responsible for providing administrative support to the School across the range of the School's activities.

The UCD School of Civil Engineering is a dynamic, research-driven school with a clear focus on delivering excellent teaching programmes. The School is home to two research centres: the Centre for Critical Infrastructure Research (CCIR) and the Dooge Centre for Water Resources Research (CWRR). The School delivers undergraduate and graduate taught programmes, with its Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering Programmes accredited by Engineers Ireland. The School also delivers an undergraduate dual degree programme in Civil Engineering Infrastructure in the Chang'an Dublin International College in Xi'an in China, and has a dual masters programme with Columbia University in New York, USA.

Furthermore, the School delivers postgraduate research programmes. The School Office is the central hub of the School, and plays a central role in staff, student and visitor support, communications, administration correspondence and School-based events and activities. The School's core values are excellence in all of its activities, engagement in university and professional life, respect for diversity, collegiality and integrity. The School Office espouses the School's values and plays a key role in maintaining the School's profile as the pre-eminent provider of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering education in Ireland.

The post holder will build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of units in UCD, including the College Office, UCD Finance, UCD HR, UCD Registry, UCD Global, UCD Communications, and others as necessary, and will provide advice and support to School staff on University systems, policies and procedures. S/he also has a key role in terms of the School's commitment to students in managing and delivering an excellent front-line service of advice, support and guidance to students, especially in relation to registration, assessment, timetabling, feedback, and University support services. The post holder is a key member of the School Office, assisting the School Manager with operational management of the School.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
