Range: $65,000- $85,000

Position Summary Guidelines: The newly founded Lewis School of Health Sciences has four existing graduate programs (bioethics, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and physician assistant) and is launching an undergraduate degree program in healthcare, which includes a strong foundation in the social sciences. The assistant professor (visiting) will be primarily responsible for collaborating with faculty and programs to develop and teach curriculum in the healthcare program. The majority of teaching responsibilities will be upper level undergraduate courses along with some involvement in graduate level instruction in the area of expertise, with a total of no more than 18 credit hours in the academic year.

General Purpose:
This position resides in the Lewis School of Health Sciences and will serve as a core teaching faculty for the healthcare major. Additional responsibilities will include undergraduate advising, mentoring, service, curriculum development, and participation in Lewis School events.

Remote Workdays: This is a full time, on Campus, position with zero remote workdays.

Minimal Qualifications: ABD or PhD in the social sciences or relevant field, or Master’s degree and five years of experience in the area of healthcare management, data analytics, evidence based clinical decision making, anatomy, physiology, or exercise physiology.

Preferred Qualifications: Terminal degree in the area of healthcare management, data analytics, anthropology, or sociology with research that is broadly relevant to the health sciences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Application of disciplinary knowledge to clinical setting
  • An academic with knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, experiential education, and inter-professional education
  • Experience in strategic planning and development of new programs
  • Knowledgeable about opportunities in service learning, research, and experiential learning for undergraduates students.
